Route 50 barge

ROUTE 50 OVER CEDAR SWAMP, UPPER TOWNSHIP, CAPE MAY COUNTY, NJ

No time for fishing, as SANO was busy drilling for an NJDOT bridge replacement project near Tuckahoe, NJ.  Scope of work included over 1,300 feet of drilling, both on land and on a barge in the water.  All 4 water borings were drilled deeper than 110' (maximum depth was 148'), which was no problem for us, using our Mobile B-37x track rig.

DORNEY PARK, SOUTH WHITEHALL TOWNSHIP, LEHIGH COUNTY, PA

It was a roller coaster of a day when SANO was called upon to drill soil borings for two proposed small buildings at this popular amusement park in Pennsylvania. Scope of work included Standard Penetration Tests, Shelby Tubes and NQ rock coring. Due to the delicate surroundings and tight access, we utilized our Mobile B-37x track rig with rubber tracks.

WEEHAWKIN WATERFRONT, WEEHAWKIN, HUDSON COUNTY, NJ

As a registered New Jersey Public Works Contractor, SANO was hired to drill 15 soil borings to depths in excess of 120’ using mud rotary methods. This was a 2-rig project - our Mobile B-57 truck mounted drill rig and Mobile B-37x track rig got the call to complete this project for updates to the Waterfront Park in Weehawkin, NJ.

ELMWOOD PARK ZOO, NORRISTOWN, MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA

SANO’s Mobile B-37x steep slope capabilities were in full view on this project. We used our tilt engine and dump mast to secure mast stability on this 3 to 1 slope. 20’ – 30’ soil borings and rock coring were required for this geotechnical investigation.

INQUIRER BUILDING, PHILADELPHIA, PA

SANO shows off our interior capabilities with our 14’ low mast with lighting drill rig, working in the basement of this building in Philadelphia, PA. Coring through the 15” concrete slab with an 8” thin wall bit allowed the hollow stem augers to advance to bedrock. Once bedrock was reached, at approximately 20’ – 30’, rock coring was performed to 10’ into the bedrock. Keeping the area clean and ensuring the core water was contained was paramount on this project and we left the site cleaner than we found it.

SANO Drilling, Inc.

COMCAST BUILDING II, PHILADELPHIA, PA

SANO was proud to be a part of the birth of this exciting addition to the City of Philadelphia’s skyline. Using our truck mounted drill rig, we drilled several borings to depths below 100’, including 30’ – 40’ of rock coring to find competent rock to hold the load of an enormous second Comcast Building.

SANO Drilling, Inc.

PIAZZA COURTYARD, NOTHERN LIBERTIES, PHILADELPHIA, PA

This site had SANO working in a busy courtyard filled with stores and pedestrians, so it was important to surround the work area with temporary fencing to keep everyone safe. Our Diedrich D-50 track rig was used for this project, and the scope of work included soil borings, NQ rock coring, and the installation of 2” piezometers finished with flush mount well caps. All auger cuttings were contained in drums and disposed off-site, keeping the area clean and safe.

SCHUYLKILL EXPRESSWAY, CONSHOHOCKEN, MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA

SANO climbs a steep 2 to 1 slope to get to the top of this hill overlooking Interstate 76. The soil investigation included drilling of test borings for the safe replacement of this older billboard foundation.
